Man arrested after decomposed body found near Mcwabantsasa, Lusikisiki

Lusikisiki police have arrested a male suspect (43) for the murder of a woman who was previously reported missing.

This arrest followed after community members reported seeing human remains in an open area next to Mcwabantsasa, Lusikisiki on Sunday, 11 April 2021 at about 13:00.

On the arrival, police saw the skull of a human who was confirmed by the family member as the woman who was previously reported missing at Lusikisiki.

The father of the reported missing woman confirmed that the skull belonged to his daughter who went missing on Sunday, 04 April 2021.

The boyfriend of the missing deceased, who was also last seen with her has been arrested after he allegedly showed up at the scene and informally confessed that he killed the missing person.

The 43-year-old male suspect is expected to appear Lusikisiki Magistrate’s Court today, 13 April 2021.

Eastern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen Liziwe Ntshinga condemned the endless brutality, assault, and murder of women especially by people supposed to protect them. She urged the detectives to meticulously complete the investigation and ensure a successful conviction of the suspect.
