A 37 year old man was shot in the leg and robbed of his firearm on Old Main Road in the vicinity of the Canelands Library in Canelands (Sunday).
Reaction Officers arrived on the scene at 19:37 and found the Verulam SAPS in attendance. It was established that the victim was in the company of two females when three suspects approached them and produced firearms. The victim also drew his handgun and fired at the robbers when he was shot in the leg. His attackers stole his firearm and fled.
Reaction Officers are currently searching for the suspects.
