As the 200 officers seconded from the National to the Western Cape in violent hot spots continue with their high visibility operations in and around Cape Town, Police Minister General Bheki Cele and DNC Lt Gen Masemola join the province’s SAPS management in operations aimed at flushing out criminality and all its manifestations.
On his fourth day in the Province, Minister Cele now addresses the members before they head out. He says while their efforts are already showing results with the confiscation of illegal firearms and ammunition, more still lies ahead especially in the quest to clamp down on contact crimes and protect women and children in the communities they are deployed to.
