On 24 May 2021 at 13:50, Durban Central SAPS responded to a complaint of business robbery on Dr.Pixley Kaseme Street. On arrival, the police arrested a 24-year-old suspect with an assistance of a security guard for robbery.
It is alleged that two unknown males entered the business premises on Dr. Pixley Kaseme Street and one with a firearm instructed the cashier that they are working and they need money from each till. The suspects had a bag and started loading money inside the bag. Both suspects left the shop and the security guard who was outside noticed what was happening and alerted the police who were conducting patrol duties.
They followed the suspects and managed to arrest the one who was carrying a bag. An undisclosed amount of cash was recovered. The suspect is expected to appear in Durban Magistrates Court today.
