A 33-year-old man was shot in the leg during a robbery at his home in Area 2, Mslasini this evening.
Residents contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) after learning of the incident. Reaction Officers arrived on scene at approximately 22:36 (Saturday 19/06/2021) and found that the victim had sustained a single gunshot wound to his left leg.
He informed Officers that he was accosted by two unknown men as he was about to enter his home. One of the suspects produced a firearm and robbed him of his Samsung J1 cellphone. He then shot the victim before they fled on foot in an unknown direction.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
