Suspect sought by Knysna detectives

Knysna detectives are seeking the assistance of the public to trace George William Cameron (47), believed to be around Cape Town, in connection with an attempted robbery that was perpetrated at the Waterfront Drive, Knysna on 05 May 2021.

It is alleged that a 69-year-old woman was lured by a man into a business transaction near the Waterfront. Upon arrival, the man got into her vehicle when he threatened the woman. He poured petrol on the victim’s body and attempted to rob her. She managed to escape the ordeal and went to seek assistance. The suspect fled on foot thereafter.

A search for the suspect commenced without any trace of him. Meanwhile, a warrant for his arrest was issued by the Knysna Magistrates’ court, on 28 June 2021.
