Lockdown II forces deployed in the Western Cape to clamp down on crime are making headway as indicated by their latest interventions in crime affected areas.
Last night, the members apprehended two male suspects aged 26 and 30 after they were apprehended in possession of an unlicensed firearm in Philippi East. The members reacted on information that the suspects had just robbed five men of their belongings in Crescent Road which prompted the area to be searched until the suspects were tracked down.
In an unrelated matter a 39-year-old suspect was arrested in Marcus Garvey for the possession of mandrax tablets and in Wesbank, Mfuleni members of Lockdown II arrested a 33-year-old gangster who was sought for attempted murder perpetrated earlier this month.
Once charged, the suspects are expected to make their court appearances in Athlone and Blue Downs.
