Emer-G-Med paramedics, together with members of multiple other emergency agencies, responded to the scene of a serious motor vehicle collision on the N2 southbound carriageway near the cement factory this afternoon.
Reports from the scene indicate that a light delivery vehicle careened across the centre median, before colliding with an articulated vehicle.
Multiple secondary collisions then occurred with as many as five motor vehicles colliding with the accident scene.
Two people have been left deceased, whilst numerous others have been left with injuries ranging from minor to moderate.
The N2 remained closed to traffic from the M7 offramp to allow emergency services to clear the scene.
The South African Police Services were in attendance and will be conducting the necessary investigations accordingly.
