It is reported that a 26-year-old male, the driver of a white Nissan NP 200 delivery van stopped at an intersection at Ceddal Square Beacon Bay waiting for the traffic light to turn green when a male suspect suddenly opened the passenger door.
The suspect pointed him with a firearm and instructed him to leave the driver’s seat to the passenger side. As the victim entered the passenger side, a second suspect joined them. The suspect then drove the vehicle along Edge Road until he stopped.
The suspects opened the back door of the delivery van and took eight boxes containing a number of cell phones. The suspects reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle with false registration numbers.
The victim sustained no injuries. A case of armed robbery was opened. No arrests have been made however, police investigations continue.
