Eastern Cape Transport MEC warns of crippling effect of violent criminality and looting

“The majority of those set to lose their jobs are the day to day customers and the lifeblood of the taxi industry. We don’t want to see that happening to our taxi operators in the province,” said Tikana-Gxothiwe.

MEC Tikana-Gxothiwe is meeting with the industry bosses early tomorrow (Wednesday) morning, to iron out some of the issues raised by the industry.

Tikana-Gxotiwe has warned that these actions will certainly result in massive job losses which will have rippling effects that will later filter down even to the taxi industry.
