Craig Johnson of the Ballito Monkey Rescue Helpline confirmed that an injured Vervet monkey rescued at 19:25 this afternoon (Wednesday) will be x-rayed early tomorrow morning to establish if there is a bullet or pellet lodged in its skull.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was called out to Hercus Avenue in Tongaat by a resident who found the injured female monkey on the roadside. Reaction Officers arrived at the location and found the animal seated on the kerb with both eyes swollen. The Officers then called out the Ballito Monkey Rescue for assistance.
Results of the x-ray will be posted on Thursday.
