On Wednesday 18 August 2021 at about 14:00, police members followed up on crime intelligence-led information about a planned house robbery at Riebeeckstad, Welkom.
The vehicle alleged to be involved was spotted at the corner of the street, in the vicinity of the house allegedly targeted. The vehicle with four occupants was stopped and searched. A revolver with no live ammunition was found.
The four suspects aged 26, 30, 33, and 34 years, were arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearms. The vehicle was also seized.
They will appear in Welkom Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 20 August 2021.
