The carcass of a missing family pet has been recovered in a stream in Tongaat – KZN a short while ago.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was called out to Fig Place in Vanrova (Sunday 13:50) after a two (2) year old male Boerboel went missing. According to the caller, the dog was last seen two days ago & Reaction Officers were requested to assist in the search.
Upon arrival Reaction Officer Pravine Sunker was informed that a dog was spotted lying in a stream. The Officer accompanied by the owner of the dog walked down to the stream and found the animal lying between live wires that were illegally connected to homes in the area. The carcass was carefully removed from the vicinity and handed over to the family.
The dog is believed to have been electrocuted to death.
