Hopetown police recover two stolen vehicles after tip-off on the N12

On 14 August 2021, the Hopetown police received a tip-off about an alleged stolen vehicle set to pass on the N12 road.
Hopetown shift members were deployed to the National road to check for the vehicle.

Detective Capt JJP Pelzer drove in the opposite direction with an unmarked vehicle, when he realised that there was another vehicle involved.

The two vehicles were stopped and brought to Hopetown SAPS for further investigation, where it was determined that one vehicle was reported stolen at Atteridgeville and the other one was stolen in Boksburg.

Two cases for possession of suspected stolen vehicle were opened.

Four males aged 23, 27, 48 and 53-year-old respectively were arrested and are expected to appear in the Hopetown Magistrates’ Court soon
