At 00:45am, #UEMS paramedics were called for a crash along the #R617, approximately 35km outside of #Underberg towards Kokstad.
On arrival, paramedics found a single vehicle that had rolled multiple times after losing control on a sharp bend. The vehicle was found 200m from the roadway with significant damage.
On assessment, #UEMS and #EMRS paramedics found two occupants entrapped in the wreckage. An adult male, estimated to be in his 50’s had sustained life-threatening injuries and unfortunately showed no signs of life. He was declared deceased on the scene.
An adult female, approximately in her 50’s as well, had sustained serious injuries.
With the help of the #NDZFireDepartment, the critically injured female was freed from the wreckage using specialized equipment.
The female was stabilized on scene by #UEMS and #EMRS paramedics before being transported to a hospital for further specialized treatment.
All necessary authorities were on scene and will investigate the crash further.
