Two men due to appear before court for alleged drug dealing

Two suspects aged 35 and 46 are due to appear before the Middleburg Magistrate’s Court today, 13 August 2021, on charges relating to dealing in drugs. They were arrested yesterday, 12 August 2021, on the N4 Highway by members of the South African Police Service’ Middelburg Flying Squad Unit.

According to the information received, the members were conducting routine patrol duties when they spotted a suspicious black BMW with Gauteng registration number plates. They stopped the vehicle and upon searching it discovered ten bags of dagga worth an estimated street value of R150 000-00. The two suspects were then arrested and charged hence their court appearance today.

The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Manamela has commended the members for their alertness and welcomed the subsequent arrest of the suspects.
