A 32-year-old woman was pronounced deceased following a shooting incident at her flat in Oaklands, Verulam.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the shooting after receiving multiple calls from the public requesting medical assistance. On arrival, Medics were directed to a bedroom where the female was located lying on the floor. Upon examination, she was found to have sustained a single gunshot wound to her head.
Circumstances leading up to the shooting were not immediately confirmed.
