Drug dealer nabbed in Phoenix

A joint operation was held yesterday morning, where a team of police officers which comprised of Provincial Organised Crime, Public Order Police and Metro police went to a house in Phoenix to execute a search warrant.

The team went to Weylen Place in Phoenix where they conducted a search. A 26-year-old man was found at the premises and a search was conducted in his presence. Upon searching the house, police found, 389 capsules of heroin, 11.26 grams of heroin powder, 10.79 grams of dagga and various drugs were also seized as well as scales.

Cash amounting to R6, 420-00 was also seized by police. The estimated street value of the recovered drugs is R8, 780-00. The suspect was placed under arrest for dealing in drugs. He will appear before the Verulam Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 27 September 2021.
