AMD Hardware on Umdloti Beach Road in Waterloo was held up by six (6) armed suspects.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) & the South Africa Police Services (SAPS) received calls from several customers reporting the Armed Robbery in progress. Several Reaction Officers & Police Officers were dispatched to the location and upon arrival were informed that the suspects had fled in a white Nissan MP 200. The registration plates were unclear. The bakkie was fitted with a canopy.
According to the store employees, the suspects entered the store under the pretense of purchasing goods. They then produced firearms and robbed the store of an undisclosed amount of cash. Several customers were also robbed of mobile phones and other valuables.
