Several arrested after the launch of #SaferFestiveSeason operations in Gauteng

Soon after the launch of #SaferFestiveSeason operations in Gauteng Province today, the Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Elias Mawela together with Gauteng Head of Crime Intelligence, Major General Lekalakala and multi-disciplinary forces of operation #OKaeMolao, proceeded to a roadblock in Tshwane to search for illicit goods and to ensure safer roads.

Several people were arrested for offenses that includes driving while under the influence of alcohol.

The annual Safer Festive Season operations are aimed at ensuring the safety of all within the country over the festive season period. The operations are set to continue until 31 January 2022.
