Suspects arrested for possession of stolen vehicle

The vigilance of members of the Provincial Extortion Task Team led to the arrests of four suspects between the ages of 25 and 48 for the possession of a stolen motor vehicle in Delft yesterday, 17 October 2021. The members were busy with a stop and search operation when they spotted a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was stopped and the occupants searched and upon further investigation, it was found that it was stolen in Vredenburg.

In an unrelated matter, members of the Kraaifontein Crime Prevention Unit arrested five suspects in Sydow Street Scottsdene. The members were busy with crime prevention duties when they came across a vehicle and the occupants shooting from inside the vehicle. The vehicle was stopped and searched and a firearm with ammunition was found in the vehicle. The suspects were arrested on charges of attempted murder, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, and discharging a firearm in a residential area.

Once charged the suspects will make their respective court appearances in the Vredenburg and Blue Downs Magistrates courts to face the charges against them.
