Trafficking in persons awareness campaign held at Roodepan

DPCI, Provincial Vispol, Galeshewe, Roodepan Social Crime Coordinators, Love Life and Safety Volunteers from the Department of Safety and Liaison conducted an Awareness Campaign on Trafficking in Persons at the Galeshewe Shoprite Centre and Usave at Roodepan. This follows the marking of 04-08 October as Human Trafficking Week in South Africa.

The public was addressed on the dangers of Trafficking and how the public can protect themselves from being trafficked. The community was encouraged to report all strange activities in their neighbourhood and if they have any knowledge of someone who mysteriously disappeared from their communities.

The Youth were cautioned of WhatsApp and online job adverts and advised to check the authenticity of these companies with the police. The Junior Station Commander for Roodepan addressed the youth on TIP and pleaded with his peers to behave and stop bullying at schools and listen to the teachings of their elders.
