COVID-19 protocols in place

Last week a new strain of the COVID-19 virus, Omicron, was identified by South African scientists. While tests are still being conducted to determine if the virus is more easily transmissible and how different it is from previous strains, there is concern it could be as damaging as what the Delta variant was for many countries.

The CEO of MasterDrive, Eugene Herbert, is assuring clients completing training in the last stretch of the year that we remain committed to our COVID-19 protocols. “Despite coming out of a period of fairly low infection rates, MasterDrive maintained their COVID-19 protocols throughout. These protocols were developed in early 2020, based on recommendations made by the World Health Organisation, the national government, and various other bodies. They are proven to be one of the most effective ways in reducing the spread of the virus.

“Every person visiting the MasterDrive premises or undertaking training with an instructor is required to complete a screening process, temperature screening, wear a face mask, and sanitise their hands. The instructors also have access to additional PPE to be used when completing in-car sessions which occurs in a more confined space than the area used for theoretical instruction.”

While South Africa and the rest of the world face a great unknown with this new strain, MasterDrive is relying on what we do know. “We know the methods employed to reduce the transmission of the virus is the best defense when done properly. Thus, MasterDrive places the utmost importance on these protocols and assures clients we are prioritising the reduction of potential exposure and transmission.

“Should you require information on the processes followed by MasterDrive to prevent transmission as far as possible, we are happy to provide this information to you. Additionally, if there is anything else your organisation requires in order to meet your health and safety training requirements for the year, do not hesitate to contact us to discuss this. We understand that adjusting to the new way of life and ensuring that we can operate within the confines of this, requires working together and we are more than happy to meet you in this objective,” says Herbert.
