A 37-year-old suspect is expected to appear in the Klerksdorp Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 8 November 2021, for the alleged murder of his girlfriend, Sylvia Meimane (25).
The accused’s court appearance stems from his apprehension on Thursday afternoon, 4 November 2021. It is alleged that police were summoned to Tshepong hospital where the murdered victim’s uncle informed them that the victim and the suspect fought at his house in Jouberton, outside Klerksdorp on Wednesday night, 3 November 2021. The ex-boyfriend then allegedly stabbed the victim on her left arm with a knife and ran away.
The 25-year-old victim was transported to the hospital where she was certified dead on arrival. Following an intensive investigation, the suspect was traced and arrested.
