An armed suspect was shot after he attempted to gain entry into a house on Jackal Road in Waterloo, KZN.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the residence. On arrival, Reaction Officers located a male lying in the yard. He was bleeding extensively from a gunshot wound to his pelvic region.
According to the homeowner, he heard glass breaking at the rear of his property. Upon investigation he found the suspect attempting to gain entry into his house. The suspect was armed with a pistol. The homeowner drew his firearm and shot the suspect.
The man allegedly robbed a minor of her cellphone on the same road minutes before he attempted to break into the house.
