Man stabbed during a robbery in Umdloti Heights

A 38-year-old man was stabbed in the back of his neck during a robbery on Mitre Close in Umdloti Heights, KZN.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene. On arrival, Reaction Officers found the victim lying on the ground bleeding from his injury. It was established that the male, his wife, and a friend were walking home after work.

As they entered a shortcut leading to Mhlasini, they were accosted by six men who produced knives. The male victim and his wife were robbed of their cellphones. Their friend resisted when an altercation broke out and the Malawian national was stabbed. The suspects then fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The victim was stabilized on scene by Medics before being transported to hospital by ambulance.
