A search operation has been launched by the South African Police Service in Hlanganani outside Giyani, following the disappearance of 16-year-old girl, Lufuno Carol Munyai residing at Masakona village. She allegedly went missing on Monday, 08 November 2021 at about 05:30.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the teenager left home to board a taxi to Vhafamadi Secondary School, where she is a learner. The same day, at about 06:30, her school bag was discovered dumped on the road. Reportedly, she never arrived at the school.
The police, jointly with family and community members have conducted a search operation without success.
The victim was last seen wearing her school uniform, white t-shirt and a maroon skirt.
The police appeal to anyone with information that may lead to the safe return of the missing teenager to contact Warrant Officer Solly Enoch Xitiva on 066 5641 303 or Crime stop on 08600 10111 or MySAPSApp or the nearest police station.
