Detectives from the South African Police Service in Swartkops are urgently looking for the driver of a vehicle, who was allegedly involved in an accident with a pedestrian on the N2, close to the Cerebos turn-off, Coega Industrial Development Zone, Gqeberha.
According to information, a truck driver, who was travelling on the N2, found the body of an unknown male (about 50 years old) lying on the N2 road at about 22:45, last night, Wednesday, 29 December 2021. The truck driver stopped at the scene and notified the police about the body. Detectives are urgently looking for the driver or witnesses who have information about the accident.
The victim was clad in a black pair of jeans, a white t-shirt, black socks, black jacket and grey and yellow tekkies. A bag (as per attached photograph) was also found close to the body.
Swartkops SAPS have opened a case of culpable homicide and is appealing to anyone who has information about the case, or who can assist in identifying the victim, or anyone who might be looking for a relative who may be missing to contact Detective Sergeant Martin Assia on 082 442 1684, the nearest police station or Crime Stop 08600 10111.
