MEC Mazibuko to handover high-performance vehicles to Gauteng Traffic Police and deploy patrollers as part of Safer Festive season

The Gauteng MEC for Community Safety, Ms Faith Mazibuko, will on Friday, 03rd December 2021 handover high-performance vehicles fitted with cutting-edge crime-fighting technology to the Gauteng Traffic Police as part of increasing visibility in crime hotspots and enhance road safety in the province.

The handover follows the Gauteng Provincial Government’s commitment to direct additional resources to the law enforcement agencies in the fight against criminal activities in the province. After the handover, the new fleet will embark on a parade of motorcade along the Golden Highway which is notorious for fatal vehicle accidents.

Meanwhile, the MEC will also as part of Safer Festive Season, oversee the deployment of community patrollers in various crime hotspots in all Gauteng corridors. The community patrollers are a force multiplier in the fight against crime.
