Police launch manhunt after five family members murdered

A 72-hour activation plan has been ordered by the Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nomthetheleli Mene following the murder of five (5) members of the family on Wednesday, 29 December 2021 in the morning at Tshisane Locality, in Tsolo.

According to the information a family of five (5) people aged between 18 and 82 was sleeping in their home when unidentified gun-wielding suspects entered their different rooms and started firing shots at them. The motive for the incident is not known at this stage, however, five murder cases have been opened for investigation. No arrest has been made at this stage.

Lieutenant General Nomthetheleli Mene has ordered a team of Organised Crime investigators to find those involved in the cold-blooded killing of the family members. “Whilst we do not yet know the circumstances surrounding the incident, as SAPS management we are however concerned about the brutal killing of the people in the comfort of their home. We shall therefore not rest until the culprits are found to account for their actions.” The Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen Mene said.
