Members of Welkom Public Order Policing Task Team were busy with Crime Combating duties in Thabong when they noticed a suspicious-looking sedan vehicle with Lesotho registration numbers.
On 11 January 2022 at about 10:33 the vehicle was stopped and a male driver was inside this vehicle. Upon follow-up and preliminary investigation. The vehicle Vin and engine number were found to be corresponding with a stolen vehicle at Ficksburg.
The driver could not provide members with proper documents to be in possession of this vehicle and the investigator of the theft of a motor vehicle at Ficksburg was contacted. A 38-year-old man was arrested for possession of a suspected stolen vehicle. He will appear soon in Welkom Magistrate Court.
