A 36 year old male was killed after he was shot in an unprovoked attack in Mslasini Area 2, KZN during the early parts of this morning (Saturday).
The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Verulam Operations Center received a call from a resident in the area at approximately 04:36 requesting assistance for the critically injured male. On arrival, the victim was pronounced deceased by Medics. He sustained a single gunshot wound to his abdomen. According to his friends, they were seated on the roadside consuming alcohol when a lone gunman approached them and shot the deceased without warning. The suspect fled on foot.
The motive for the murder was not established.
