Response officer robbed of firearm and ammunition in Brindhaven

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) are currently searching for the occupants of a silver Toyota Corolla who robbed a Response Officer from National Security of his firearm and spare magazine.

Reaction Officers were dispatched to the scene after receiving multiple calls from residents of Fairview Drive in Brindhaven, KZN reporting multiple shots being fired. On arrival, several spent 9mm cartridges were discovered on the road. RUSA members went in search of the Response Officer and located him at a service station.

He stated that while seated in his vehicle on Croton Road in Brindhaven, he was accosted by two individuals. One suspect was armed and instructed the Response Officer to hand over his company-issued Taurus firearm and spare magazine. The robbers opened fire on his vehicle as they fled towards an awaiting silver Toyota Corolla.

The Officer was not injured.
