The family of 23-year-old kidnap victim Mthobisi Ngcobo (pictured) has identified his body at the Phoenix Mortuary in KZN this morning. According to his sister Zinhle Ngcobo, he was identified by parts of his tattoos.
Ngcobo was found in the Inanda River with his hands bound behind his back. It is believed that he was tied to a vehicle and dragged before his body was dumped in the river in an attempt to remove his tattoos that would identify him.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was informed of his kidnapping by five (5) armed men in the Verulam Bus Rank on Monday (7/02/2022) at 15:00. Detectives from the South African Police Service (SAPS) at Verulam are investigating a case of Kidnapping and murder after recovering the body.
Mthobisi Ngcobe is survived by his 14-month-old child.
