An elderly couple were robbed by four armed suspects as they were in the process of exiting their property on Greenwood Close in Parkgate, KZN today (Saturday).
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call for assistance at approximately 12:46 after neighbours noticed four gunmen attempting to hijack the couple’s silver Toyota Etios.
Reaction Officers were dispatched to the residence and on arrival were informed that the suspects had fled after they were disturbed by screams from neighbours. According to the victim, he was reversing out of his garage when the robbers approached them.
They instructed the couple to exit the vehicle. The 69-year-old female was robbed of her gold bangles and chain. As the suspects were in the process of removing her earrings, they were disturbed.
They abandoned the victims’ vehicle in the yard and fled in a white VW Jetta with an ND registration (picture 2).
The couple were visibly shaken but unharmed.
