Johannesburg Flying Squad members foil attempted car theft and arrest five suspects in Rosebank

On Saturday, 26 February 2022 members of the Johannesburg Flying Squad foiled an attempted theft of four vehicles and arrested five suspects in Rosebank.

According to a preliminary report, the SAPS members obtained information on suspects linked to cases of motor vehicle theft. The information was swiftly operationalised by the members and caught five suspects in the act of stealing four motor vehicles.

The SAPS members recovered four motor vehicles, car breaking implements, an unlicensed firearm, ammunition, and signal jammers.

Further investigation revealed that the two vehicles of the suspects are positively linked to motor vehicle theft cases and also impounded.

The five suspects are expected to appear before court soon.
