Last night, a man in his 40s was injured in an armed robbery on a gravel road in Westonaria.
ER24 arrived at 21h20 to find the local authorities already in attendance. A man believed to be in his 4os was found inside a nearby residence.
Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained a gunshot wound to his hip.
The man was treated and thereafter transported to a private hospital for urgent care.
It is believed that several armed men had approached the man and attempted to rob him.
The local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
