Missing Person: Tongaat/Verulam – KZN

Pictured is 42 year old Zahera Bana Mohamed who is missing since 08:30 this morning (Wednesday February 2, 2022).

Mohamed left her Verulam – KZN home this morning to board a taxi to her workplace at Sabah Collection an easternwear store in the Tongaat CBD and has not been heard of since. Her Watsapp messages remain undelivered and her phone has been switched off.

Earlier last week, Mohamed contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) reporting that she noticed a suspicious male following her on two occasions. Reaction Officers responded to the callout and interviewed her at her place of employment. She described the male as tall, dark in complexion and attired in a yellow t-shirt on the first day and a red t-shirt on the second day. The man made an attempt to grab her near the Bus Rank in the Verulam CBD. She managed to flee & declined to open a criminal case.

Mohamed is short, dark in complexion, has long hair and wears glasses. At the time of her disappearance she was attired in a blue t-shirt with a flower print, black pants and a size 4 sandals. Reaction Officers received reports that she was spotted in the Tongaat CBD this morning (Wednesday) but this could not be confirmed.

The family of Zahera Bana Mohamed believes that this is not a voluntary disappearance. At the time of this post, a Missing Persons Report had not been filed with the South African Police Service.
