ROAD TRAFFIC LEGISLATION UPDATE:
The Minister of Transport has published the following notices:
GG 45901 of 11 February 2022. National Road Traffic Act, 1996.
• Notice No. 1749 – Appointment of officers by the Chief Execute Officer The notice extends the existing power of the CEO of the RTMC to appoint traffic officers, to also include inspectors of licences, examiners of vehicles, examiners for driving licences and traffic wardens in terms of section 93A of the NRTA.
• Notice No. 1750 – Amendment of the National Road Traffic Regulations, 2000.
Insertion of From RC2 in Schedule 2 of the Regulations – This amendment is linked to the amendment published on 2 February 2022 implementing the amendments to regulations 13B and 53.
GG 45902 of 11 February 2022. Notices No. 814 to 818 in terms of The South African National Roads Agency Limited and National Roads Act. Publication of annual adjustment of toll fees as from 1 March 2022.
The MEC for Transport and Community Safety in Limpopo has published the following notice increasing the registration and licensing fees for the province:
GG 45853 of 31 January 2022. National Road Traffic Act, 2000. Increase of tariffs and fees as from 1 April 2022 for the Department of Transport and Community Safety, Limpopo Province.
