Siphesihle Secondary School in Trenace Park – KZN was closed after parents and students blocked the entrance this morning (Friday) in protest after a scholar was murdered.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) and the Verulam SAPS were called out to the school at approximately 08:00 after receiving reports of protest action.
On arrival, First Responders were informed that students gathered outside the school premises while parents blocked the entrance with their vehicles. The protest was a result of an incident that occurred on the premises where a 17-year-old learner died after he was stabbed by another pupil. A 15-year-old was later arrested for the murder by Police.
The crowd was addressed by Law Enforcement Officers who opted to abandon their protest at the school.
