Two cellphones and a wallet with an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen during a home invasion in Buffelsdraai – KZN.
At approximately 22:58 last night (Wednesday), Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call from the victim requesting assistance in the Verulam CBD. Reaction Officers arrived at the location provided and met with the 30 year old Zimbabwean national.
He explained that he was asleep in his informal home in Buffelsdraai, KZN when two suspects armed with a firearm and knife kicked open his door. The man and two females were held at gun point as the suspects demanded valuables from them. The male victim was then asked to hand over his wallet and forced into his white Toyota Hilux double cab bakkie. He was then forced to drive to the Verulam CBD were he was expected to withdraw cash for the suspects.
While on route, one of the suspects instructed him to stop the vehicle. The robber then exited the vehicle when the victim sped off. The second suspect jumped out of the bakkie while it was in motion.
Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search for the robbers, however no arrests were made.
