18-Year-old robber shot in Temple Valley

An 18-year-old suspect was shot by an off-duty Security Officer during a robbery on Valley View Drive in Temple Valley.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call from a passerby at approximately 18:01 reporting the shooting. On arrival, Reaction Officers were informed that three suspects accosted a pedestrian and robbed him of his Samsung cellphone and cash. One of the robbers was armed with a large dagger.

An off-duty Security Officer who was walking to his residence witnessed the robbery in progress and shot the teenager in his right thigh. His two accomplices fled in an unknown direction. The victim was not injured.

The suspect was transported to the hospital by ambulance in stable condition.
