On Tuesday, 08 March 2022, Members of Umhlali K9 Search and Rescue and Unit Commander responded to a complaint of two missing girls, aged 5 and 15 years, from the Kawdukuza area.
The girls allegedly went missing from home after an altercation on Monday, 07 March 2022. The children were spotted in the Kenya Township, Glenhills area late Monday evening. This morning, a search was conducted with the help of K9 ‘Dante’ in a dense field that was pointed out by community members in the Kenya area. After an extensive search, ‘Dante’ members to the two missing girls.
The 15-year-old girl was unresponsive and the 5-year-old was found asleep on her sister. Urgent medical assistance was rendered to the older girl who was transported to the Kwadukuza hospital. The younger sister was left in the custody of her mother.
