On Sunday, 06 March 2022, members of SAPS Springs arrested a suspect found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition following a robbery incident in Springs CBD.
While out on a routine Crime Prevention patrol the SAPS members received information of a robbery in progress and immediately proceeded to the address.
Upon their arrival, the members noticed a man fitting the description of the alleged suspect. A search led the members to recover an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
The SAPS Station Commander, Brigadier Thembeka Gwebushe, applauded the members for their swift response and apprehension of the suspect.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Springs Magistrates’ Court soon.
