Three suspects arrested following a business burglary at a car dealership

The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has applauded members in Delmas after they speedily arrested three suspects who allegedly robbed a Car Dealership Company in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday 23 March 2022 at Delmas.

According to the information received, four suspects reportedly forced their way through the side gate of the dealership, broke into the workshop, deactivated the alarm system, and disabled the security cameras. They then allegedly ransacked the place and took computers and tablets as well as opened the safe where vehicle keys were kept.

The suspects then made off with four new vehicles, two Toyota Hilux Club Cab bakkies, a Toyota Land Cruiser as well as a Toyota Fortuner.

Police and the vehicle tracking company were notified about the incident. They managed to recover two club cab bakkies in Kensington (Gauteng Province). Three of the suspects, aged between 27 and 61 were also arrested on charges of a business burglary. Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt for the remaining suspect and are also searching for the other vehicles.

The suspects are due to appear in the Cleveland District Court on Thursday, 24 March 2022 for possession of suspected stolen vehicles, and then they will soon be transferred to Delmas for their court appearance.

Police urge anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the outstanding suspect, to contact the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111. Alternatively, members of the public can send information via MYSAPS App. All received information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous.

The Provincial Commissioner has appreciated the work done by police in collaboration with the tracking company, and the General indicated that police will work tirelessly to find the other vehicles as well as the remaining suspect.
