Two men nabbed for murder of four family members

Following the killing of four family members last month at Sabhuza in KwaMbonambi, detectives worked tirelessly trying to put all the pieces together. Their hard work paid off when two suspects were arrested.

On 1 March 2022, the team of detectives from KwaMbonambi arrested two suspects aged 39 and 42 at Nseleni Reserve for charges of murder. The 42-year-old suspect was found in possession of a pistol and he appeared in the Empangeni Magistrates Court for unlawful possession of a firearm. Both suspects will appear before the Empangeni Magistrates Court tomorrow facing four counts of murder and attempted murder.

It is alleged that on 23 February 2022 at 19:30, unknown armed men entered the house at Sabhuza in KwaMbonambi and fired shots at two family members aged 15 and 25. Both victims were declared dead at the scene.

Again on 26 February 2022 at 05:00, unknown suspects entered the same homestead and allegedly fired multiple shots at a 40-year-old man. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was declared dead at the scene. Two other people sustained injuries and were taken to hospital where a 43-year-old man died on 28 February 2022.
