Reports emerged about a K2700 Kia bakkie that had been stolen from the Chatsworth area yesterday.
Fidelity SIU KZN’s task team immediately got in contact with the NETSTAR RECOVERY UNIT and activated it to the last location in Umlazi.
On Fidelity SIU’s arrival, a white BMW 1 series that’s linked to numerous serious and violent crimes was parked in close proximity to the stolen vehicle with its doors open.
While the SIU team investigated and approached the vehicle?.a suspect ran towards the BMW. The suspect noticed that there was movement and immediately fled into the nearby informal settlements.
Fidelity SIU made its way to the stolen bakkie and saw two suspects running out from the stolen vehicle. They shot toward the members and fled the scene into the houses that were next to the vehicle.
Due to the dedicated team fighting for the community, the client’s vehicle was successfully recovered. The suspect’s
vehicle was also recovered and will be the subject of further investigations.
