14 Dead, 10 missing and 4 bodies recovered in Inanda

The RUSA Robinson R44 Helicopter will be lifting off shortly from the Helipad to search for ten (10) bodies that are missing after fourteen (14) people from two (2) families have swept away during the floods in Kwazulu Natal this week.

Nkosentsha Shezi, the RET Champion National Chairperson (contact no. 071 834 7106) called Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) a short while ago seeking Air Support in locating the 10 bodies that have not been recovered.

Fourteen people including women and children were swept into the Mzinyathi River in Inanda after their homes collapsed during heavy rainfall. The 14 deceased are from two families (Mjeje & Mdlalose). Two bodies were recovered under the truck seen in these pictures.

The Pilot & Crew will be lifting off shortly heading to a river in the vicinity of the Seme Store in Mzinyathi.
Weather dependent/rain/poor visibility, the search will be abandoned at the discretion of the Pilot.
