Two suspects fled with the keys of a bakkie after they failed to drive off with the vehicle they hijacked in B Section, Parkgate – KZN last night (Saturday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on scene at approximately 19:34 after receiving reports of the hijacking. On arrival, the victim informed Reaction Officers that he was seated in his Toyota Hilux bakkie when two armed suspects accosted him. The men got into his bakkie and attempted to reverse out of the yard. They abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot with the keys after it got stuck in the mud. Two shots were fired as they made their getaway.
No injuries were reported.
