The body of a Mozambican National was discovered with multiple stab wounds at the Quarry Informal Settlement in Redcliffe – KZN this morning (Sunday).
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call from a member of the community at approximately 07:57 after they made the discovery. On arrival, RUSA Members were led through a path separating informal dwellings where the body of a male was located in a prone position. On examination, the deceased was found to have sustained stab wounds to his chest and back. He also had whip marks to his back.
A friend of the deceased informed Reaction Officers that the man arrived at his home at approximately 01:00 this morning. He refused to allow him in due to him being under the influence of alcohol. The deceased left and his lifeless body was discovered by the community a few hours later.
The motive for the murder has not been established.
